The Real-World Effects of a Monastic Lifestyle
By: Kolbe Dolin and Dr. William Bryant
The purpose of this project is to provide an examination of the daily effects of living a monastic lifestyle via an autoethnographic study of multiple monastic populations in the United States. Regular lifestyle features among monks include vows of silence, fraternal living, and common intention.
Project Sections
This ongoing project will consist of a textual report of the autoethnographic findings, a podcast portion wherein the researchers recount their experiences throughout the study, and a video portion showing the grounds and environment of the monastery. The text and video portions will be added upon publishing.
